New Isetta?

Rumor has it that the Isetta is being considered for production again by BMW. Here is an artist's rendering of what a new egg might look like.

Here's a taste:

2007 BMW CCA Oktoberfest

Ft. Worth, TX --Right in our neighborhood! You shoulda been there! Terry and Rhett were there Monday and Tuesday for the driving school and vendor receptions. Rhett went home and Debbie came up for Tuesday evening social events and then the fun rally, dinner at Billy Bob's Texas and the TSD rally on Thursday, lots of BMW fun. The concours on Friday was spectacular -on the grounds of the Kimball museum! Like I said, you shoulda been there.

We want to send a big old "Thanks!" out to the BMW Car Club of America, as well as the planners and organizers of this year's Oktoberfest event in Ft. Worth, TX. We brought some of our favorite cars to the event and Terry and the pirates raced before at Motor Sport Ranch for the Car Club's Oktoberfest races. See the Racing Journal for more...

New Painted Sign

Check out the new sign our friend Greg Lowry painted on an E46 Hood for us.

Updates from the great white north

Our guys Rob Pepper and Rhett Hubertus have gone to Vancouver, BC, Canada to take a wonderfully temperate vacation. We just heard from them and they sent these photos:

Quoth Rhett:

"Hello all & welcome from Vacationland here in beautiful Vancouver & British Columbia.

So far this place has been my best to visit so far. The climate is perfect - high 60's at night, 70's through upper 80's during the day with little humidity. Lots of sun, no inclement weather. Wunderbar!

There's so much to do here, & we haven't missed a beat. Took in Stanley Park by car & then by bike (Vancouver's version of Central Park), took a drive out to Whistler & around the Pacific Mountains driving tour. The geography/biology of Vancouver is much like the Pacific NW from what I've seen, but since we haven't been in a rainy spell it's been more enjoyable for sure. Must come back to Whistler to snowboard. Huge mountain, wonderful surroundings. Not too far from Vancouver."

Terry travels to TWS for Corinthian Vintage Races

Our man Brent is a new Father

Congratulations go out to Brent and Robyn Christensen on their special delivery that arrived on August 16, 2007. Her name is Sonia Rose Christensen and she is lucky because she's related to the two sweetest families in the galaxy! (no lie). She was 7 Lbs 1 Oz and 20.5 Inches, another little miracle in our community.

Lemon Bimmer Journal

24 Hours of LeMons

Terry, Rhett H. and Ahmad L. travelled to Altamont Raceway in California over the 4th of July holiday to run in the 24 Hours of LeMons race on July 7th & 8th. The Lemon Bimmer project raced for the whole event, moving as far up as third for a time, but a broken transponder and some radiator problems caused some missed laps in the middle of the race. The pirates finished 8th overall and lived to tell the tale! Congrats to Terry and the Pirates for another great racing adventure!

Jesse Duncan - Our Hero

One of our project department guys, Jesse Duncan, is an avid bicyclist and recently, while riding observed a motorist clearly in distress. After this motorist swerved into Jesse's space clearly almost losing control, the car then stopped. Jesse caught up to the car and saw the motorist's inability to put the window down when he shouted interrogatives to the motorist, so he performed a rapid emergency-open maneuver to the window for the driver, ascertaining that the emergency had in fact, passed. Unfortunately, Jesse broke his hand in 3 places during the emergency window opening operation. We are so proud of Jesse's quick thinking during this time of crisis. Get well soon, Jesse!

Stein, has now appeared in its very first BMW CCA club race this last weekend (April 28/29, 2007) at Motor Sport Ranch in Ft. Worth, TX. This '2002' is much more modern than the vintage exterior lets on. Newer motor, suspension and drivetrain ... Frank's the perfect sleeper. New photos are posted at the following link. Frank runs in the "CM" class with E36 & E46 M3s. The Lemon Bimmer also made it's appearance with a famous guest driver from Atlanta, Ahmad Lutfeali. One of our Pirates, Dale Ivy, bought a 2001 M-Z3 Coupe last week... it's black and judging by the way it kicks you in the seat, it has some anger management issues. Take a look at how nice it is...We're so jealous! Congratulations Dale!
