Post Chihuahua Express - Update 3-
Bypass Throttle Heater

by Terry Sayther

Charge Density is the name of the game! Or at least it's one name of the game. Or one name of one game. But wait a minute here, this is no game, it's serious business. What the heck am I talking about, anyway? Increasing Charge Density means packing more air and fuel into the combustion chamber, and it's done by cooling the air coming in. The common way of increasing charge density is to make a cold air intake, which usually costs money.

George reconfigures the
throttle body heater tubes

What we're doing here to the Lemon is bypassing the throttle body heater, not a good idea in Yankeeland but no problem at all for this car. This is a really simple and zero cost modification; by disconnecting the two hoses to the throttle body and connecting them toegether with a little pipe, we reduce the temperature of the throttle body, and consequently, the air entering the engine.
Colder air equals more horsepower. More horsepower equals more grins.
