A Weber Upgrade for the Weber Upgrade

What's Wrong With My 2002, It Keeps Squealing the Tires?

After an exhaustive survey of the nation's BMW 2002s, I have determined that all but eleven have had their original carburetor removed and a Weber carburetor installed. The 32/36 DGV Weber is a simple, bolt-on replacement for the original, complex Solex and it's the best carburetor for most applications.

But for a select few there's something better. A bigger, better Weber--not so easy to install, but Oh, What Performance! Gear driven throttle plates for synchronous opening of both barrels, double discharge accelerator pump, 38mm bores----it even sounds sexy. And, did I mention it works good?

We put one of these 38/38 DGAS carbs on a 2002 one time for a guy who didn't plan to tell his wife about the conversion. After her first drive in the newly modified car, she returned and said "Honey, there's something wrong with the car, the rear tires keep squealing." It's that kind of carburetor.
